Kintamani Adventure Guide: Cycling, Dirt Bikes and Mount Batur

Kintamani is usually sold as a viewpoint over Mount Batur and Lake Batur. For adventure travelers, it is more useful to think of it as a base for volcanic terrain, downhill cycling and highland-to-Ubud routes.

This is the high-adrenaline option. The tour combines Mount Batur's black-lava terrain with the more technical Kintamani forest and offers Honda, Yamaha, KTM and ATV choices.

The cycling route is mostly downhill and focuses on scenery rather than athletic road riding. Expect villages, temples, rice terraces and highland views while descending toward Ubud.

If you want variety, combine the scenic downhill cycling section with an off-road ATV ride in Payangan. It gives you both a slower view of rural Bali and a more physical motorized activity.
